Spirituality is food for the soul. It is also the quality of concern with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material for physical things.
What is spirituality and what is it like to be spiritual?
Spirituality has a different meaning for everyone. For myself, spirituality allows me to have a sense of connection with something bigger than myself.
It is not a religious man made practice, but rather a spiritual lifestyle, which has awakened me to the idea that we all have a purpose in life, that our body is simply a vehicle and that everything that happens, happens for a reason.
I believe that through love and compassion, we can bring great transformation in this world and by allowing myself to be centered in my heart, I am able to love myself, others and life and at the same time learn great life lessons.
Nurturing and developing my spiritual self is as important for me as eating a healthy diet and exercising. I love the idea of reconnecting with my essence, thus with my true nature, exploring my potential and searching for life’s purpose.
Spirituality allows me to cultivate empathy and compassion.
What’s the difference between empathy and compassion?
Empathy allows us to fully understand another person’s experience and connect it to our own experiences and compassion is the opportunity which allows us to respond with kindness to others.
Spirituality allows us to develop our inner wisdom, creativity and love of self. It also allows us to deepen our awareness of oneness not only with other people but also the world and all living things. For me, spirituality allows me to deepen my experiences of trust, self-esteem, hope, joy and love of life.
